I was surprised to find a website Escaño family. My father and my grandparents were from a town in Pangasinan. We were told by old relatives a long time ago that we are related to Fernando Escaño but did not mention information about him. 'Just want know if we are related. I've met some other Escaño on a very, very rare chance. 'Hope to get a reply. Thank you.

Guys
Resil Mojars is re-writting the Escaño Book and we need updates for each line. We keep extending the deadline for submission of line family updates but to no avail. So we have set a final deadline for sumission opf escaño line updates to July 31, 2010. After this date no more material will be accepted and can mean that the lines who have not submitted any updates will just have the orginal write up from the original Escaño book re-printed.
Please send your up-dates to Pet Misa at petmisa@gmail.com.
I have attached the update from sent by Resil to Pet.
Thank you.

DATA COLLECTING GUIDE FOR UPDATING
ESCANO: A FAMILY PORTRAIT (1989)
Updating the written text of the 1989 Escano book has the following aims:
1. To introduce needed revisions in the 1989 book in terms of factual corrections, additional information, and other essential changes
2. To update the coverage of the book by bringing it up to the present (2010)
[It will be noted that the 1989 book effectively ends with the second generation (i.e., the sons and daughters of Don Fernando Escano. Hence, we wish to bring it up to the third, fourth, or possibly the fifth generations.]
In the light of the above aims, we wish to request:
1. Corrections, additions, and other suggested revisions to the 1989 book
2. New information on the succeeding generations of the Escanos (i.e., the third and fourth – and fifth, if applicable –
generations)
Such information may be broken down as follows:
2.1 Basic information on families and individuals:
Genealogical data (full names of grandparents, Parents, children, grandchildren)CV or biographical profile of senior members of the
family
2.2 Personal and family histories
Places and dates of birth (and death, where applicable)
EducationCourtship and marriage
Profession/Business/Civic/Cultural activities
Residence/residential changes Important or distinctive experiences, events, or
accomplishments
2.3 Family tradition
What old (carried over from randparents) and new traditions are observed in your family?
What holidays are celebrated in your family? Which are the most important and how are these observed?
Does your family hold reunions? When, where, how often? What ‘family bonding’ practices are observed (e.g., weekend meals, hometown visits, etc.)?
What are the memorable anecdotes or stories told about family members, that capture or convey distinctive personalities and achievements, or preserve experiences of childhood, schooling, courtship, arriage, work, religion, social or political activity, and others?
What shared memories of places, homes, etc., are important to the family?
What facets of personal or domestic life (food, manners, dress, hobbies, etc.) do you remember or treasure about elders in your family?
What contributions to the community have been made by family members (business, professions, civic and philanthropic work, artistic and cultural activities, etc.)
Please provide as much factual data as possible (e.g., when business companies are mentioned, for instance, provide year established, nature and scope of business, etc.)
2.4 Some suggestions
Please provide full names and exact dates (enclose nicknames, if persons are better known by these names)
Describe persons, places, or things (e.g., how a person looks, what the house is like) to help readers visualize as they read
Kindly loan to the Book Committee anything that will help in illustrating the book, such as copies or reproductions of photographs, documents, heirlooms, recipes, etc.
Please note that the narrative will not be limited to ‘public’ accomplishments but will also try to evoke personal and domestic lives. Hence, details of personal character and home life are important
Do not feel constrained by this guide. Feel free to write down whatever personal and family reminiscences you consider important

Dear relatives,
There is a growing call among some members of the Escano clan to change the date of the reunion to July 2010.
They bring up a number of reasons:
First, the global recession still lingers, making it difficult for some to travel to the Philippines to attend.
Second, in the wake of recent natural calamities in the Philippines, namely Typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng, the country is still reeling and it is not the time for revelry.
Third, December is peak season for travel hence everything goes up in price.
So in order to give all members of the family a chance to express their feelings kindly do so by responding or emailing to this address. The Committee will meet most likely on October 18, 2009 in order to make a decision on this matter. All opinions will be considered and taken up at that meeting. Of course, we will all have to abide by whatever is decided then.
Thanks and hoping to hear from you all...kindly forward to other Escano relations in the event they are not copied in.
